The ripple effects of our Art in a Box program are still being felt — across classrooms, communities, and borders. What began as a simple yet powerful idea of connecting students through tin art has blossomed into a growing cultural and educational exchange movement, and the next chapter is already unfolding.

We’re thrilled to announce two new initiatives coming this spring that build on that same spirit of creativity, collaboration, and connection:

Modernism Architecture Educational Exchange

This April 28–30, students from Vista del Monte Elementary School in Palm Springs will participate in a virtual architecture and design workshop with Newland School, our partner school in San Miguel de Allende. Centered around Modernism, this educational exchange initiative will explore the architectural styles that define each city’s character and legacy.

This hands-on educational experience blends cultural appreciation with academic enrichment, empowering students to view their world - and the world of others - through the lens of design.

Celebration Reunion: Art in a Box Comes Full Circle

Mark your calendars! On May 20, students from Vista del Monte Elementary and Newland School will reunite virtually in a celebration of shared creativity and friendship. This meaningful reconnection reminds us that cultural exchange is not a one-time project — it’s an evolving journey of understanding, growth, and shared joy!

Coming Soon: Mojigangas Puppet Project

We're also in the early stages of launching an exciting new artistic exchange inspired by Mojigangas — the towering, whimsical puppets that are a beloved part of San Miguel de Allende’s street culture. While the final details are still in the works, we’re already buzzing with anticipation for what promises to be a colorful, collaborative, and unforgettable project for students.

Why It Matters

These programs aren’t just enriching experiences — they’re lifelong lessons in empathy, culture, creativity, and confidence. And they’re only possible because of people like you.

Your Support = Their Opportunity

With your help, we can continue to grow these exchanges and make sure no student misses out due to a lack of funding. Your donation can help cover materials, technology, coordination, and mentorship — ensuring that students on both sides of the border have access to life-changing experiences.

Together, we’re building bridges—one brushstroke, blueprint, and puppet at a time.
