Several Palm Springs city officials, hospitality leaders and half a dozen College of the Desert culinary students will travel to San Miguel de Allende in Mexico next month to strengthen relations with its sister city, participate in their food and wine festival and provide students the opportunity to train under Mexico’s chefs.

San Miguel de Allende chooses its sister cities carefully. Similar agreements with Vail, Colo. and Santa Fe, New Mexico were made because they have similar tourist economies and natural beauty.

Palm Springs, California. EEUU. 8 de febrero de 2023. Fortaleciendo la estrategia marcada de fortalecer el posicionamiento y la economía del Municipio, el presidente municipal, Mauricio Trejo, firmó un nuevo hermanamiento, ahora con la ciudad californiana Palm Springs.

Palm Springs and San Miguel de Allende have similar cultural, culinary, architectural and arts scenes. After a ceremony on Wednesday, they also have a formal bond.

The Palm Springs Sister City Committee is welcoming thirteen Mexican delegates from its first “Sister City”, San Miguel de Allende.
